As summer peaks, we're talking staycation - turning your interiors into the ultimate holiday at home with our pale, pretty and coastal trend...

Pale Pretty and Coastal Interiors

While every season has its perks, and we try to see the beauty in all of the Earth's changing faces, we have to admit it - Summer is our favourite!

Whether it's lush afternoons spent lazing in the sun or memories made on the beach with family, Summer has a care-free vibe aplomb with positive energy which is completely infectious.

Perhaps our penchant for the sunny months are linked to subconscious memories of childhood summers when school was out, your time was entirely your own, and the long days stretched into endless hazes of fun and laughter Maybe it's just because it rains (slightly) less often!? Whatever it is, it's definitely our favourite here at Pagazzi!

Although British summertime is glorious enough, it's lovely to get away where the sun shines a little brighter, the sand glows a little more golden, and the sea heats up to perfect swimming temperature by midday.

The reality is, however, that not everyone manages to get away on holiday every year. Whether it's struggling to get time off, or flights looking a tad too expensive, sometimes it's just not in the cards to jet set off to the scorching sun.

But that doesn't mean you can't bring elements of a holiday home to you...

In fact. recent years have seen a huge rise in the popularity of holidays at home, or 'staycations', with families on budget opting to fall in love with their home towns and cities again in summer.

Believe it or not, exploring new things to do with the kids and looking upon the place you call home with fresh eyes and a positive attitude can end up creating some of the best summer memories around!

With that sentiment in mind, we thought we'd talk about how to interpret some of the cherished elements of a holiday in your interiors with our Pale, Pretty, and Coastal trend - the ultimate staycation for your home.

 1. Play with natural materials

Pale Pretty and Coastal Materials

When it comes to this trend, au naturale is the name of the game. Play around with lots of wood, rope, and foliage. Think of flotsam and jetsam on a desert island somewhere and let that be your inspiration. When it comes to wood, consider tarnishing or ageing wood to give it an extra point of interest which will whisk you away without leaving your living room!

2. A serene palette

For this trend, the paler and more wistful the palette the better. You want to create the illusion of bright white sunlight dappling across the terrace of a beach hut, so play with pale blues, greens, pinks, and creams. If you want to introduce some darker elements, sandy tones of beige and grey will work as a beautiful accent.

3. International accessorising

Another great way to bring the feeling of a holiday home to you is to go global with your accessories and accents. Create fun interior vignettes with interesting items you've collected from your travels. Or if you're not too much of a collector, don't be afraid to fake it till you make it! Pick up some trinkets and accessories which are influenced by different cultures around the world and create a collection without getting on a plane. We won't tell if you don't!

4. Candles, candles, candles

Pale Pretty and Coastal Candles

Is there anything more romantic than a candlelit meal near the ocean? Not that we can think of. No matter where you like to jet off to on your holidays, we're sure you've seen the way bars and restaurants along the seafront dance in candlelight when the sun sets. Invest in some beautiful candles for your home, and if you want to go even further try and find scented candles which have fragrances that remind you of other climates and cultures.
